Manhattan. Goldfinches, Red-winged Blackbirds & Pine Warbler.
Joining the usual round of titmice, chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers and House finch are flocks of Goldfinch, the odd Red-winged Blackbird and the rare (in winter) Pine Warbler. Climate change has adversely affected the Red-winged Blackbird, whereas Goldfinches, devout thistle eaters, are declining in sync with their grassland and open habitat breeding grounds. Warblers everywhere are in decline due to habitat fragmentation (read deforestation in the South and suburban sprawl in the North).
