The Norway Rat is not only a common sight in subway tunnels and other urban subterranean habitats, it also freely roams the parklands and wilder areas of NYC. Here it is feasting on the fruits of a mulberry tree. Mulberry trees were first planted in the region to promote a regional silk industry.
